About these terms
These terms apply to Steady PC Guide at https://steadypcguide.info, published by Steady Guides Media, Columbus, Ohio, USA ("we", "us"). If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
What the site is
Steady PC Guide publishes free, general information about using and protecting a Windows computer. It is not a support, repair or consulting service, and nothing on the site creates a customer, professional or advisory relationship between you and us. We do not sell products or services.
Using the guides
- Guides describe common situations. Your computer, software version and settings may differ, so menus and results can vary.
- You decide whether to follow any step, and you are responsible for the result. Before any step marked with a warning, back up anything important.
- If you are unsure, stop and use the official website of the company that makes your software or device.
- Guides are not legal, financial or law-enforcement advice. If you have lost money to a scam, contact your bank and the authorities.
Accuracy
We work hard to keep every guide correct and current, and each guide shows the date it was last checked. Software changes often, though, and we cannot promise that every detail is accurate, complete or suitable for your situation at all times. Please tell us about mistakes.
Copyright
The text, design and illustrations on this site belong to Steady Guides Media unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to print or save a guide for your own personal use, or to share a link to it. Please do not republish or sell our content without written permission.
Trademarks
McAfee is a trademark of McAfee, LLC. Norton is a trademark of Gen Digital Inc. Microsoft, Windows and Microsoft Defender are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies. Other product names belong to their owners. We use these names only to identify the products a guide is about. Their use does not mean any company endorses, sponsors or is affiliated with Steady PC Guide.
Links to other websites
We link to official company websites and to government services. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
Limits on our liability
The site is provided free of charge and "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from following any guide, including loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the publisher is based (Columbus, Ohio, USA), without affecting any rights you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.
